A short peek into the active and passive voice

Any good high school student of English ought to know what passive and active voice is, hence I should really go into the topic of the day and explain when and why each of the two "voices" is used. Rather than assume that everyone knows, let me nonetheless begin by touching on what we mean by passive and active voice.

Active voice is when a sentence is written in a manner that the subject of the sentence is at the beginning of the sentence and it plays an active role in the action described ...

ENEMY

I never thought I’d have one but today I realised that

I have one!

He is strong, powerful and nasty.

He is very devious.

He is like a wild lion that might just skin you alive!

 

Today I realized how evil and dangerous he is.

Hearing his deep voice when he talks, smelling his strong

Flammable deodorant when he passes by,

Makes my whole body vibrate from anger.

He looks at me as if I am his supper.

 

He roars into my ears and thinks that I am scared.

Hey dude, guess what?

Promises

What exactly is a promise? Well according to the dictionary, to promise someone is to tell them that you will certainly do something. Surely that is a fair explanation of the word but what does it mean to us? What is the point of a promise?
 
Nowadays people tend to make and break promises as if breaking promises is nothing. This simply means that the word 'promise' has lost its value. A promise is now just a group of words put together to make someone else feel better...well... until it is...

I brought you confessions from the BLACK list collection,

And life’s journey is to help me set free,

I’ve said it before and I will say it once more,

I am like a train embarking on an extended train track.

I own the DREAM ENTERPRISE,

And we moving from state to state.
